Wikilogia | Revolution of Collaboration & Internet


Wikilogia is a collaborative community of engineering students in Damascus, Syria, envisioning an economically empowered generation of students with marketable global and regional competencies. Since 2011, we have successfully provided many workshops and lectures in several domains to develop skills and knowledge of the community.

I am a co-organizer of Wikilogia, so I participate in strategic planning and event management. In addition to media, design, marketing, and technical tasks.

Fablogia


A partial community of Wikilogia which is specialized in hardware fabrication movement and its tools. This community initiated based on the open source culture, Fablabs, and hackerspaces concept.

I am proud of being a part of a community that organized many public events and workshops introducing the Syrian community, for the first time, to Arduino, 3D printing, Open source and other global industry tools.

Wikiteen


A series of workshops focused on developing kids and introducing them to the modern tools of technology in different domains and topics like DIY, programming, electronics, blogging, and web development. My job was co-organizing the whole series, in addition to training and design the content of electronics workshops.

Arduino Day 2015


Arduino Day is a worldwide celebration of Arduino’s birthday. It’s a 24 hours-long event organized directly by the community, or by the Arduino team– where people Interested in Arduino get together, share their experiences, and learn more.

We started this day with an introduction to Arduino and open source hardware and their importance. Then a fast series of experimental workshops were held for attendees. At the same time, there was an exhibition for Arduino based project developed by the community.

Scratch Day Syria 2015


Scratch Day is a global network of events that celebrate Scratch, and the young people who code and create with it. At Scratch Day, kids and adults come and collaborate to share projects and learn from one another.

It was a good experience for me as a mentor which helped me in my next activities.

ICTI Entrepreneurship Programs


ICT Incubator is the first business incubator in Syria that supports Startups in information and communication technology (ICT) to produce innovative products and businesses.

The entrepreneurship program is a two-phase program for Syrian entrepreneurs. It aims to improve their entrepreneurial skills and also support them to build their startups. At first phase, accepted participants attend a workshop bootcamp in different cities. Then after submitting a new application, a group of shortlisted projects is selected to attend the second phase of training. Finally, all project will pitch their ideas to a panel of experts which will select the winners.

The winners will get a fund to speed up their progress, in addition to an incubation opportunity and mentoring sessions.
